From the time he could walk, Towse has been immersed in the world of working dogs, having grown up surrounded by the contrasting drives of working spaniels and Dobermans. This lifelong exposure instilled in him a profound respect for the intelligence, focus, and immense capability that these breeds can achieve under the right guidance.
While Towse successfully completed an extended diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, he discovered that a traditional industrial environment did not suit his temperament. Joining the team at Protection Dogs Worldwide (PDW) provided the perfect alternative; he is able to apply his technical expertise to fix and maintain the facility’s infrastructure while remaining in a canine-centric environment that supports his well-being.
Towse also possesses a long-standing fascination with psychology. He is particularly driven to apply these insights to his work, focusing on behavioral patterns, communication nuances, and the critical bond between handler and dog. He remains committed to advancing his expertise within the protection dog sector.
His favorite aspect of life at PDW is the time spent outdoors, whether supervising paddock play or accompanying dogs on day trips. For Towse, the ability to facilitate a dog’s enjoyment while learning from a talented, cohesive team makes his work truly rewarding.
