I have worked professionally with dogs for over eight years. My passion for dogs began in childhood where growing up with family dogs created the bond and respect I have for them today. Having faced emotional trauma during my early years, I found purpose and direction through working with dogs, and from that point I knew this was the path I wanted to dedicate my life to.
After leaving school I worked on a local farm owned by family friends while training dogs in my spare time. It was not long before I discovered my true passion for working as a decoy and developing protection dogs. That passion quickly became an obsession.
Today I work with dogs all around the world and my obsession is developing dogs to the very highest standard while continually progressing as a decoy. Every dog is different and bringing out the very best in each one is what drives me every single day.
At Protection Dogs Worldwide my role is to produce protection dogs that are dependable, disciplined and completely stable within a family environment. I oversee training programmes, assess each dog’s development and ensure they possess the correct temperament, control and confidence to become exceptional family protection dogs.
One of the parts of my role I enjoy most is staging and planning realistic real life scenarios. Seeing the dogs successfully protect their families when needed while remaining calm, safe and loving companions in everyday life is incredibly rewarding. There is no better feeling than seeing families gain confidence, security and peace of mind through one of our dogs.
As part of my role I also travel worldwide delivering dogs, training their new owners and carrying out regular revisit programmes to ensure every dog continues to perform to the exceptionally high standards we expect. Watching the bond between the dog and its family grow over time is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do and it is a privilege to play a part in that journey.
